Social Links Wordpress Plugin

The Social Links Wordpress plugin is a sidebar widget that displays icon links to your profile pages on other social networking sites. You can see it in action here on the right hand side of my blog.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Download the installation zip file and unzip leaving the directory structure in tact.
  2. Upload the newly unzipped ’social-links’ folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` folder folder
  3. Activate the Social Links plugin from the wordpress plugins activation page.
  4. Add the widget to your sidebar from the Widget design page.
  5. Add your social links from the Social Links page under Management.

I have Wordpress 2.6 so that’s the only version I am able to test on. If you have it successfully working on a different version, please post comment.

If you want more social networks supported, just post a comment with a link to any user page on that site. I will add suggested sites in upcoming releases.

Is there any way to use new tabs or windows? I do not want visitors leaving the site to get to the facebook page… I would rather it opened up in a new tab.

Great, if only the vertical display problem could be fixed, I’m having that one too :)

  3. Hi Using the your plugin on my site. Wondering how I can add an additional link to Blipfoto.com. I have an icon. It breaks when I change the php file.

Also the new Post thumbnail feature in WP 2.9.1 doesn’t work when your plugin is activated. I have to deactivate it to work. Any chance of this being updated?

    Thanks for your help!

Love this plugin. Is there any way to make the icons BIGGER? Thanks!

I’m a techno-dud and an absolute beginner, so hopefully there is an easy answer to this. The install seems to have gone ok and I have activated and added gthe widget to the sidebar, which gives me the option for a title, but the title is all that shows after I have edited my social media links in the edit page.

Also – it would be great to have Posterous added to the mix.

    Hope you can help.

    Cheers
    Susan

Love your plugin, but it apparently causes a conflict with the new 2.9.1 image editor. Any idea what can be done to fix it?
